Dr. Muia's research program focuses on biochemistry, vascular biology, and the pathophysiology of metalloproteases ADAMTS13 and ADAMTS7, as well as the von Willebrand factor (VWF) protein. His lab is also interested in translational research on TTP, von Willebrand disease, sepsis, and coronary artery disease. Dr. Muia is the 2025 HTRS Research Colloquium Planning Committee Chair and has been a reviewer for the HTRS Student Research Award.
